You work hard. You check off tasks.

You grind every day. But are you actually making progress?

Or are you just busy?

Most people confuse movement with momentum. They spend hours doing everything except the one thing that would change their life.

Enter the 90/90/1 Rule—the simplest way to break the cycle and start making real progress.

I’ve applied it to my own life. It works. Now it’s your turn.

What Is the 90/90/1 Rule?

A framework popularized by Robin Sharma, it’s simple:

  • For the next 90 days

  • Spend the first 90 minutes of your day

  • On your number one most important task

No distractions. No multitasking. Just deep, focused work on what truly matters.

Sounds easy, right? It’s not.

Most people won’t commit because:

  • They think they don’t have time.

  • They lack the discipline to show up every day.

  • They’re addicted to low-value tasks that make them feel productive.

But if you stick to it, the results will shock you.

Why It Works: The Science Behind the 90/90/1 Rule

This method isn’t just another productivity hack. It’s backed by science.

  • Your Brain’s Peak Window: Your cognitive function is highest in the morning. Use it wisely. Studies show that your prefrontal cortex is most active after waking up, making it the best time for deep work.

  • No More Decision Fatigue: You eliminate the “What should I work on next?” trap. Decision fatigue is real, and by having your first 90 minutes planned, you avoid wasting mental energy.

  • The Power of Consistency: One deep work session won’t change your life. 90 of them will. Small, daily progress compounds over time and leads to massive breakthroughs.

  • Less Distraction, More Focus: Lock in. No emails, no notifications, no social media. Just execution. The modern world thrives on distraction. The ability to focus is a competitive advantage.

How to Implement the 90/90/1 Rule (Starting Tomorrow)

Step 1: Identify Your Number One Priority

Most people fail before they even start because they don’t know what truly matters.

Ask yourself:

  • What’s the one project or skill that will have the biggest impact on my life?

  • If I mastered this, would it change my trajectory?

  • What’s the thing I keep avoiding because it’s uncomfortable?

Pick one. No backups. No distractions.

Step 2: Protect Your First 90 Minutes

The world wants your attention. You have to fight for it.

  • Start your day with it – Before emails, meetings, or distractions.

  • Block interruptions – Silence your phone. Shut the door.

  • Make it sacred – This is non-negotiable.

Your environment matters. If your phone is in the room, you’ll check it. If notifications are on, you’ll get pulled away. Remove everything that doesn’t serve your focus.

The Challenge: Take Action Today

Most people will read this and do nothing.

Be different.

  • Step 1: Pick your number one goal for the next 90 days.

  • Step 2: Block off the first 90 minutes of your day starting tomorrow.

  • Step 3: Stay consistent. Track your results.

High achievers don’t wait for the perfect time. They execute.

You in?
